SubwaySim Hamburg

Players operate the DT5 electric multiple unit at speeds up to 80 km/h along a 20.7-kilometer route with 25 stations. The route recreates the real line in detail, including landmarks such as the Elbphilharmonie concert hall and the St. Pauli Piers. Driving tasks cover the daily routine of a subway operator, from following signals and schedules to managing station stops. Dynamic computer-controlled passengers and traffic populate the route, and an accurate soundscape reinforces the feel of a working transit system. The train and surrounding environment are rendered on a modern game engine, giving the line a high level of visual detail. Varied open routes and tasks give players room to explore beyond the core act of driving from station to station. The result is a detailed, relaxed simulation built around one real city route rather than a generic rail network.
