Roots of Yggdrasil

Where a Viking chieftain trapped in a time loop after Ragnarok rebuilds settlements inside the branches of a fractured World Tree.

Each expedition begins with a small deck of building cards for houses, barracks, wells, and watchtowers, and every card placed costs resources such as population, supplies, might, or Eitr. Death sends the chieftain back to the start of the loop, but the cards and knowledge gathered carry forward into the next attempt.

Islands, encounters, and events are generated fresh for each run, so no two loops through the nine realms play out the same way. A permanent hub called the Holt lets the chieftain unlock lasting upgrades between attempts, while allied Scions join along the way, each bringing its own bonuses.

• Deck-Building Loop Building cards are drafted and swapped between runs, changing which structures are available in the next attempt.
• Resource Management Population, supplies, might, and Eitr are gathered and spent to place new buildings and grow the settlement.
• Nine Realms to Explore Procedurally generated islands spread across nine Norse-inspired realms give each expedition a different layout of encounters.
• Allied Scions Recruitable Scion characters join the settlement and each carries its own passive bonuses and gameplay modifiers.
