Railway Empire 2 - High Voltage

In the base game, players lay track and choose locomotives. They also construct the stations, factories, and civic buildings needed to keep a growing rail network profitable across a large map. Campaigns and standalone scenarios walk through different eras of railway history, and up to four players can build a shared network together in cooperative multiplayer. This expansion shifts the focus to the transition from steam to electric power. It adds ten electric locomotives modeled on real historical designs, complete with three new electric locomotive sound sets. It introduces two new fully voiced scenarios set in the early twentieth century. One opens as electrification begins, and a second is set several years later as the technology spreads. A new map covers a mountainous central European setting styled on Switzerland. It plays either as one large connected map or as five smaller sections for shorter sessions. Ten new local goods are added to haul and trade, including pocket knives, herbal candies, and cheese. This gives players fresh products to move between towns on the new map. Twenty additional music tracks round out the pack, giving the new setting its own audio identity.
