Every building, room and path is constructed by hand, with players also routing the power grid and water systems that keep the prison running. Staff are hired to fill roles across the facility, and can be assigned, promoted or fired based on how well they perform. Inmates are sent through a range of therapies, from television and dance sessions to hologram rooms, aiming to prepare them for release. Security still matters, so players place cameras and watchtowers, position guards and plan for the possibility of an escape attempt. Five distinct climates each bring their own construction and comfort challenges, and a room-cloning tool speeds up repetitive building work. A sandbox mode removes resource limits entirely, letting players build out a prison purely for its own sake. Players balance staffing, therapy programs and infrastructure together to keep both order and rehabilitation on track.
