OMSI 2: Edition

The player follows realistic timetables, picks up passengers, and drives through recreated German towns and countryside routes, managing traffic lights, stops, and road conditions along the way. Vehicle interiors are modeled down to the dashboard controls, ticket machines, and door mechanisms, and the player must operate them manually to keep a route running on time. Weather, time of day, and traffic AI all affect how a shift unfolds, and mistakes like missed stops or rough braking are noticeable to virtual passengers. Beyond scripted routes, the game includes tools for building and editing maps, letting players design their own bus networks and share them with others. Multiple bus models are included, each with distinct handling, sound, and control layouts, so learning a new vehicle is its own challenge. The pace is deliberately unhurried, rewarding patience and attention to procedure rather than speed, and the sim is built around the day-to-day routine of professional bus driving rather than arcade thrills.
