Starting from a single oilfield, the player expands into as many as 15 areas, investing in new oilfields, pumps, refineries, storage facilities, maintenance buildings, and logistics to grow production. Ninety oilfields and twenty building types are available across the map, and expanding headquarters unlocks further investment options as the company grows. Long-term supply contracts pay well but require a strong reputation, while random events such as earthquakes, currency swings, and equipment accidents force quick decisions. Two in-game mentors walk newcomers through pricing, drilling, and plant upgrades before turning them loose on the open market. Staying profitable means balancing spending against income, and a struggling company can take out a loan to fund further expansion. Twenty scripted scenarios set specific goals and constraints, a free-play mode removes those limits, and a multiplayer mode seats up to six players competing on the same market.
