The base game is a team-based ninja combat title where two squads of four fight across arenas using ninjutsu, close combat and support abilities drawn from the wider ninja series. Players build a loadout from unlocked characters and gear, then compete in online matches or cooperative missions against computer-controlled enemies.

This pass adds five master characters as separate training packs, each bringing a new fighter with its own ninjutsu moveset, costume, weapon and hairstyle options to unlock. Owning the full set also unlocks a bonus lobby action tied to one of the included fighters, giving returning players extra characters to build strategies around in matches.
