METAL SLUG

The player moves left to right through military-themed levels, shooting soldiers, tanks, and mutant enemies while collecting weapon power-ups that change the character's firearm until they are hit. The Metal Slug tank and other vehicles can be commandeered mid-level, adding heavy weapons and different movement options for a section of a stage. Levels end in large boss encounters that require memorizing attack patterns to survive.

• Run-and-Gun Action The player moves and shoots continuously across scrolling side-view levels.
• Vehicle Sections The Metal Slug tank and other vehicles can be captured and driven through parts of a level.
• Weapon Power-Ups Collected weapons temporarily replace the default sidearm until the character is hit.
• Boss Encounters Each level ends with a large enemy boss with a distinct attack pattern.
