Meridian: New World

Players lead a small expedition sent to extract resources from the planet Meridian, constructing bases, research outposts and defensive structures while fending off waves of native alien creatures that grow more aggressive as expansion continues. The player manages a single commander unit alongside squads of soldiers and automated turrets, balancing offense with the need to protect vulnerable extraction sites. Missions unfold across a campaign that gradually reveals the planet's ecology and the corporation's motives for colonizing it. Combat leans on chokepoint defense and careful placement of static weapons rather than large-scale unit spam, giving each encounter a puzzle-like quality. Resource management ties directly into survival, since fuel, materials and manpower are always scarce and must be rationed between building new defenses and pushing the frontier outward. The isometric perspective keeps skirmishes readable even as enemy numbers swell, and the shifting day-night cycle changes the threat level players face on the surface.
