Mahokenshi

Players take on the role of a mahokenshi, a warrior blessed with elemental magic, tasked with defending a chain of floating islands from spreading corruption. Each turn, cards drawn from a personal deck determine movement across the hex grid, combat actions against enemies, and special abilities like healing or terrain manipulation. Islands are dotted with shrines, resource nodes, and hostile creatures, and clearing objectives on one island opens the path to explore the next. Between missions, the deck can be refined with new cards earned through play, letting players lean into aggressive combat, defensive stalling, or resource-focused strategies. Four warrior paths are available at the outset, each tied to a different elemental affinity and offering its own starting cards and playstyle. The campaign links a series of island missions into a broader story of restoring balance to the archipelago, and matches can also be played competitively against another player's chosen mahokenshi.
