Jalopy

The player manages the mechanical condition of the car, replacing tires, patching the fuel tank, and fixing the engine while hauling cargo between towns for money. Fuel runs low over long stretches of road, and the car breaks down in small ways that must be diagnosed and repaired at roadside stops, giving the driving a hands-on maintenance loop rather than pure racing. A second character rides along for parts of the journey, and side activities like trading goods across borders and exploring roadside locations add variety between drives.

• Vehicle Maintenance Individual car parts wear down and must be repaired or replaced by hand.
• Border Trading Goods bought cheaply in one town can be sold for profit in another.
• Open Road Travel The car travels long stretches of road between towns, managing fuel along the way.
