Hegemony Gold

The player commands an army through reconnaissance, raids, open battles and mountain blockades. Supply lines are central to the design. An army cut off from its base starves, so protecting routes through mountain passes matters as much as winning a fight. Besieging an enemy and burning their crops is a valid path to victory on its own. Three historical campaigns let the player lead Macedonia, Athens or Sparta through a dedicated set of wars tied to that faction's real position on the map. A separate sandbox mode opens the whole map for a longer, freeform conquest. Here the player can pick any one of twenty-six factions, from small city-states like Crete to the much larger Persian empire, and build an empire from scratch. Diplomacy, trade and territorial control all feed back into the military campaign. Battles are won as much by logistics and positioning as by raw unit strength on the day.
