Golden Rails: Small Town Story

Jack and Jill arrive by train for a vacation, save a local mayor from disaster, and take on the job of connecting his town to the wider world by rail. Across fifty levels, players place buildings, manage workers and collect resources under a countdown, planning big-picture priorities rather than micromanaging every step. Trains periodically roll into stations carrying larger batches of resources, and players can let production build up automatically or click through buildings to speed up collection by hand. Raging Buford and his band of thieves interfere throughout, and hidden villains occasionally need spotting before a level can be finished. A recruitable cast of Native American allies joins the effort, and story beats unfold between levels as the railroad pushes further into contested territory. Alongside the main campaign, a bonus chapter adds ten further levels, and five separate shooting-gallery challenges break up the building and resource loop. Three difficulty settings, switchable at any time, adjust the pace for newcomers or genre veterans. The presentation stays light and family-friendly throughout, matching its western setting to an all-ages tone.
