The world has been shaped by a long war between humans and a mechanical race thought destroyed but never fully gone, leaving automatons and ruins scattered underground. Aletheia explores this underground city gradually, uncovering both its history and the nature of the mechanical threat still moving through it. Combat blends close melee strikes with a ranged attack charged up from them, so fights shift constantly between swordplay and gunplay. A skill tree lets new abilities and movement options be unlocked over time, opening paths back to areas that were out of reach earlier. Power-ups found while exploring add temporary boosts on top of the permanent upgrades, giving short bursts of extra strength in tougher fights. The game leans on story and detailed pixel art over the punishing difficulty of harder action games, keeping the pace steady rather than brutal.
