Drill Core

Each mission splits into two phases. During the day, workers dig tunnels, extract minerals, and expand the base while the player decides how deep and how fast to push. At night, the same tunnels draw hostile alien wildlife, and defenses built during the day determine whether the crew survives until morning. Balancing speed against safety runs through every decision, since faster digging earns more resources but leaves less time to prepare defenses.

Workers are split into roles: miners excavate and haul out ore, guards hold defensive lines against attackers, and haulers move loot back to storage. Between missions. Research unlocks new technology and equipment that changes how a run can be played, while structures and turrets built underground carry a defensive strategy across multiple visits to the same planet. Every run also weighs a direct trade-off, since aggressive mining can provoke wildlife that a purely defensive approach would avoid.

• Day-Night Cycle Missions alternate between a mining and building day phase and a survival-focused night phase.
• Worker Roles Miners, guards, and haulers each handle a different job in keeping the operation running.
• Tech Research Unlocking new technology between missions changes available equipment and strategy for later runs.
• Risk vs Safety Trade-off Digging faster brings in more resources but leaves less time to build up defenses.
