Play starts with a single small settlement and grows it into a full town by managing food, housing, and the wellbeing of individual villagers rather than abstract resource pools. Four playable heroes, Sigurd, Hatschi, Bjami and Crya, are drawn into schemes by the trickster god Loki, who is plotting against Odin. Each hero takes on separate quests and adventures meant to free their allies from Loki's traps, including a plague of serpents and a confrontation with the demon wolf Fenris. Between missions, players explore unmapped land, meet other tribes, and set up trade routes to keep the settlement supplied. Villagers who start as inexperienced laborers or fighters can be trained and equipped over time, growing into named heroes with their own skills. Three difficulty levels adjust the pace of the economic side, letting newer players focus on story missions or veterans lean into deeper settlement management. The result sits between traditional real-time strategy and character-driven adventure, with town-building resources and equipment carrying over into the hero-focused quest missions.
