Cossacks 3: Rise to Glory

The base game has players commanding armies built from roughly seventy unit types, backed by around a hundred technologies and over a hundred and forty historical buildings. Battles mix ranged and close-quarters combat, use terrain to give tactical bonuses, and run on a ballistics engine aimed at realistic weapon behavior. Up to eight players can compete at once, fielding armies that can grow into the thousands against human opponents or the game's AI. This expansion adds two historical campaigns: one follows Friedrich the Great leading Prussian forces, and the other follows Gustavus Adolphus as Sweden rises to power. It introduces seven new military units, three of which are entirely new designs rather than variants of existing troops. Two new playable nations, Bavaria and Saxony, join the roster alongside a set of new scenarios built around these additions. The expansion also adds winter environments, bringing snow-covered maps to both single-player campaigns and multiplayer matches. Playing this content requires owning Cossacks 3, since its campaigns, nations and maps run inside that base game rather than as a separate product.
