Cossacks 3: Path to Grandeur

The base game recreates seventeenth and eighteenth century European warfare, with battles that can grow to tens of thousands of soldiers on one field. Players gather resources, build cities and research technologies while commanding armies drawn from twenty nations. This pack adds two returning nations, Hungary and Portugal, each arriving with its own musical theme. Eight new unique unit types spread across the Ottoman, Spanish, Portuguese and Hungarian rosters, six of which are new to this game. Two linked story campaigns come with the content. An Ottoman campaign covers the Köprülü era of conquest, and a Spanish campaign puts the player in command of forces led by Ambrogio Spinola through a run of sieges. A new desert climatic zone rounds out the content, giving battles a different look than the temperate and coastal terrain in the base game. Owners fight with the same core systems as the base game: gathering timber, food, coal, iron, gold and stone. They train soldiers and sailors from over a hundred unit types and research upgrades across roughly a hundred available technologies, now extended to the new nations and units this pack unlocks.
