The pace stays light and low-effort at its core, closer to a clicker than a full tactical battler, while still rewarding planning ahead. Every defeated monster drops gold, which is spent on unlocking new levels, branches of a skill tree, additional classes and fresh cards to try. Heroes also earn Glory during fights, a separate currency used to recruit more heroes and unlock spells and cards that reshape how a run plays out. Between encounters, players can dig for ancient relics even while under fire, adding a risk-reward choice to the pacing of each fight. Losing control of the heroes' management leads to defeat, so success depends on constantly reinvesting resources rather than simply waiting for numbers to climb. Classes, party compositions, factions, skills and decks can all be combined, so no two runs draw on the same set of strengths.
