Chornobyl Liquidators

You play one of the liquidators, working through assignments inside contaminated buildings and open ground: reading a dosimeter, stripping out irradiated material, decontaminating surfaces, sealing rooms and hauling debris to disposal points. Radiation is the central pressure. It accumulates in the body rather than depleting a shield, protective gear degrades with use, and a dosimeter climbing while you are deep inside a structure forces a real decision about whether to finish the job or withdraw and lose the progress. Tools and suits are upgraded between assignments and have to be maintained rather than simply bought. The environments are reconstructions of the plant, the abandoned town and the surrounding countryside, modelled with an emphasis on documentary detail rather than horror, and the pacing is deliberately slow and procedural. Between contracts there is a base to manage and a small crew to keep supplied and healthy, which turns a sequence of individual tasks into a longer campaign about attrition and preparation.

KEY FEATURES

• Dose Accumulates - Radiation builds up in the body rather than draining a regenerating meter.
• Degrading Equipment - Suits and tools wear down and must be maintained between contracts.
• Documentary Environments - The plant, the abandoned town and the countryside are reconstructed rather than fictionalised.
• Procedural Work - Measuring, stripping, decontaminating and hauling are simulated as separate tasks.
• Crew and Base - A small team has to be kept supplied and healthy across a longer campaign.
