Border Pioneer

Buildings, units and upgrades are placed by drawing and playing cards from a deck of over two hundred unique options. Players manage raw materials and plan their town's layout, gradually unlocking new buildings and units as the settlement develops. At the end of each month, waves of enemies attack the town, so defenses built during the calm periods are put to the test. Fortifications and unit choices made earlier in the month directly decide how well the town survives each siege. The game is presented in a pixel art, top-down style, and carries roguelite elements that vary the cards and challenges from one run to the next. A built-in level editor also lets players design and share their own maps and scenarios. Card choices double as strategy, since the same deck used for building towns is also drawn from during combat and defense.
