The camera sits in a virtual swivel chair that pans freely around the tower. Players can also switch to a runway camera, a wide sky view or the cockpit of any aircraft in the air. Two separate radar screens track ground and airborne traffic, helping the player spot potential collisions before they happen. The roster includes more than forty aircraft types, from the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner to older classics like the Concorde, each following spoken pilot commands issued by the player. Nine real-world locations are included, ranging from major hubs such as Los Angeles and La Guardia to a float plane base in Vancouver Harbour and a small aerial firefighting airstrip. Each airport offers two distinct traffic patterns, so the same location plays differently depending on which pattern is in use. Weather and tower height can both be adjusted before a session starts. Emergency scenarios such as a nearby forest fire raise the pressure by adding urgent traffic on top of the normal schedule. The result is a detail-heavy, procedure-driven simulation rather than an arcade action game.
